Four generative audio/video works created in eight hours – the future of AI for artists?
This uses the same system as “A Walk to Meryton“, albeit without the improvising musicians and sound poet.
Four generative audio works were created/curated. As with “A Walk to Meryton”, these works were complete, including the selection of synth timbres, effects, and processing.
The visual stills were generated using dreamstudio.ai – a prompt-based AI image generator – and the frontend for the open source Stable Diffusion. These images were processed with “A Walk to Meryton’s” generative video system.
The entire work – four videos almost forty minutes in length – was created in one day using AI tools. While AI tools may raise the level of artmaking for novices, I believe that its use by artists to further their creative research is their true benefit; AI will not replace artists, it will expand their palette, and save time.
